Not everyone has the space or the budget for large, made-to-order wall art.

Submaterial developed their series of ready-to-ship modular pieces with that in mind. Priced at under $300, they offer a level of accessibility beyond their size.

Use a single piece to fill an awkward corner or group several together to create a textural gallery wall. The scale may be smaller, but the approach remains the same: each piece is designed and handmade in New Mexico, reflecting Submaterial’s signature design language and focus on sustainable materials.

These smaller pieces are just a glimpse of Submaterial’s material exploration, which has expanded from felt, cork, wood, and leather to a new pricklier surface: cactus. Introduced at ICFF, Echo is a tile-based design faced with Nopal cactus leather, manufactured through a deeply resource-efficient process, and backed with a recycled, sound-dampening acoustic substrate.
