We’re hosting our first-ever in-person Metabase conference, OUTER JOIN, in Denver from October 5-7. We added some new sessions to the agenda, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites:
Accelerate Metabase with AI. Whatever you're building in Metabase, there's an AI path that can help you get there faster: Metabot, MCP, CLI, or agents. This session will help you figure out which one fits which job.
Open source in the age of AI. Why being open — transparency, control, your data staying yours — matters more than ever.
Make Metabase fast. Queries, caching, and what to actually do when things time out. This is the practical session for anyone self-hosting Metabase.
Vibe coding your first custom viz. Custom visualizations are one of my favorite new features. If you haven’t tried building your own viz type yet, bring a laptop and let’s do it live.
GROUP BY sessions. We’ll have dedicated time for you to share your experiences and learn from others working on AI, self-hosting Metabase, and self-service analytics. Is there another topic you’d like us to include? Let me know, and I’ll add it.
We’ll also have an Experts Lab where you can grab a snack and get hands-on help from a Success Engineer.
And I’m very excited that I’ll get to meet each and every one of you. We’re keeping the first year small on purpose, which means we’ll have plenty of opportunities to introduce you to people working through the same problems you are.
