Newsletter: Zines and celebrating little victories
That’s a wrap on our July Zine Challenge
This month, we challenged Blurb creators to make a zine in two weeks as a way to create something fast, scrappy, and fun. We love zines because they don’t have to be grand and give you permission to simply make something—which, more often than not, leads to spontaneous creative discovery. With just six days left in International Zine Month, what will you create?

Rose Boakes
In her debut book Wisdom Teeth, Rose Boakes explores the intricacies of teenage years—growth, rebellion, and the spaces in between—experimenting with surreal beauty and nostalgic memories.

“I was inspired to create this book by my photographer role models whose pages sit on my shelves—as a sense of accomplishment definitely comes from a physical body of work. I chose the title Wisdom Teeth mainly because I thought mine may have been coming through as I was constructing the book. The title also nicely sums up ideas about growing up and teenage life.”
