Call it a labor of love — because providing care for up to 1,600 animals, every day of the year, takes tremendous heart. Of course, it also requires serious horsepower. It’s that combination of dedication and energy that fuels our work together and makes certain a bright, safe future for so many animals. Indeed, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary serves as both a refuge for animals in need and a symbol of hope and commitment. It’s the vision that Best Friends brings into shelters and communities across the country, working toward the day when no dog or cat is killed in a shelter simply for lack of a safe place to call home.

Behind every one of those second chances is the infrastructure that keeps it all moving: the vehicles, equipment, maintenance, and repairs that make possible this lifesaving care. And your support ensures that the foundation remains a dependable safe haven for the many homeless pets counting on us.

Today, thanks to a special match, your gift will go twice as far. Up to $327,350 will be matched to fund the $654,700 needed to fulfill our lifesaving list, strengthening the hands-on work that leads to healing, rehabilitation, and happily-ever-afters.

There is no offseason for our veterinary clinic, a place of nurturing and healing, where hearts are coaxed to keep beating, bodies mend and rebuild, and hope finds its foothold. But right now, steady footing is literally at risk. After years of constant use, portions of the clinic flooring have reached the point where replacement is needed to support the pace and precision of veterinary care. The cost to do this important work is $65,000.

Friend, thanks to you, new durable flooring will help veterinarians and caregivers move safely and efficiently through treatment spaces while protecting critical equipment. The wear on these floors tells the story of thousands of animals who have moved through the clinic on their path to healing. Now it’s time to ensure that thousands more can do the same.
