Angel City saw its three-match shutout streak come to an end in its last outing, marking the first goal conceded under Leif Smerud. Despite the result, ACFC remains eighth in the NWSL standings and in the playoff race at the midway point of the season.

Against Louisville, Angel City controlled 64% of possession and outshot its opponent 30-14, while Alyssa Sentnor recorded a match-high nine shots.

The last meeting between Angel City and Kansas City came on May 20 at BMO Stadium, where ACFC claimed a 2-1 victory. Gisele Thompson opened the scoring in the ninth minute, while Sentnor, then with the Current, netted Kansas City's lone goal.

Mattice Earns NWSL's Assist of the Week!

Sophia Mattice wasted no time making an impact. In her first appearance of the season, she came off the bench and, within 10 minutes, delivered the NWSL Assist of the Week with a brilliant long pass that set up Sveindís Jónsdóttir's nutmeg finish. The play marked Mattice's first career assist and an unforgettable start to her 2026 season.
