The AKC is pleased to announce the winners of the AKC National Obedience Championship and AKC Rally® National Championship. More than 800 dogs from across the country competed in the two national championships, held July 16–19 at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington, Ohio, where the nation’s top obedience and rally dogs earned top honors.

AKC and Dogs Australia Announce Mutual Cooperation Agreement

The American Kennel Club, a not-for-profit organization, the world’s largest purebred dog registry, and a leading advocate for dogs, and Dogs Australia, a not-for-profit organization that represents the interests of its member bodies throughout Australia, are pleased to announce that they have entered into a Mutual Cooperation Agreement.

AKC Agility Team Challenge on ESPN2 this Saturday!

The AKC Agility Team Challenge took place on June 7th, 2026, as part of the AKC Celebrates USA 250 events held at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in Philadelphia, PA. In this knockout style format where strategy and skill combine, six teams representing these patriotic cities – New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Nashville, Chicago, and Washington D.C. – faced off for the top spot in this inaugural AKC Agility event. Event commentary by Carolyn Manno (host), Kelly O’Donnell (play by play), and Carrie DeYoung (analyst). Tune in at 12pm ET on 7/25!

The American Kennel Club (AKC®) is proud to announce the creation of the AKC National Champion (ANC) title, a new prefix title that will be awarded to the dog earning Best in Show at the annual AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin.

The harsh Siberian landscape and a devoted work ethic endeared the Yakutian Laika to the native Sakha people of the Yakutia region of Northeastern Russia. The medium-sized ancient breed assisted with hunting, herding reindeer, and pulling sleds piled with goods.
