Invitation to Join the Editorial Board of iFungi - A New High-Impact Journal in Medical Mycology

Dear Prof. XX ,
I am Amir Arastehfar, Founding Executive Editor of iFungi, a new international journal dedicated to advancing research, clinical practice, and innovation in the field of medical mycology. On behalf of the journal team, I am honored to formally invite you to join our Editorial Board, as we strive to establish iFungi as the premier platform for high-impact research (top 10%) and global collaboration in this critical discipline.

  About iFungi

iFungi is uniquely positioned as the first high-level journal exclusively focused on medical mycology, bridging basic science, clinical applications, and technological innovation. To date, we have secured over 30 invited comprehensive reviews from leading experts, setting a strong foundation for authoritative content in the field. We are thrilled to announce that the inaugural issue of iFungi will be published on January 1, 2026.
We welcome original studies and in-depth reviews in three main areas:

  • Basic Research: Work that explores fungal taxonomy, pathogenesis, antifungal resistance, and omics-based discoveries in key human pathogens such as Candida, Aspergillus, Dermatophytes, Mucorales, and emerging species.
  • Clinical Research: Studies that improve how we diagnose, treat, and manage fungal infections, both superficial and invasive, including those that affect the skin or occur in vulnerable patient groups.
  • Technology and Translational Tools: Development of new diagnostics, antifungal agents, and experimental models. We are particularly interested in studies that apply ideas or methods from other disciplines to tackle unresolved questions in medical mycology.
