Background for annual meeting
2020 marks the last year of the “13th Five-year Plan” and of realizing the goal of an overall relatively prosperous society in China. The Chinese government will continue to adopt measures to promote growth and
maintain a stable society. At the same time, it will steadily transform the Chinese economy into quality development. All these measures have facilitated the development of paper industry in China.
Year 2019 has witnessed the initial transformation of Chinese paper industry. The industries and enterprises
with overcapacity have been eliminated continuously. Market concentration ratio has been further enhanced.
The operation efficiency of pulp and paper enterprises has bounced back and the import of pulp has been
increasing ceaselessly. The production and sales volume of paper have maintained basically stable, so the
market is operating in order. It is believed that under the premise that China strives to maintain the economic
growth, the Chinese pulp and paper industry will continue to ensure the growth momentum in 2020, and accelerate to be transformed into quality development and keep up with the international standards.
In 2020, China will further increase the import of pulp and influence the global pulp market. As the Chinese pulp
