In Seattle: The police arrested one person and were looking for another after three people died in a shooting at a crowded food festival in Seattle. Another four people were injured, including a toddler. Investigators believe the two suspects were shooting at each other. [AP]

In Berlin: The suspect involved in what the authorities called an "Islamist terror attack" was shot dead by police after a major manhunt. The attacker drove a van into a crowd near a Pride event in the German capital before stabbing several people with a machete, killing at least one person and injuring 29 others. [CNN]

In New York: The man accused of stabbing a Jewish man and an Asian man on the Upper West Side in Manhattan was charged with hate crimes, officials said. Witnesses said the suspect had yelled "Allahu Akbar" during the attacks on Thursday. Both victims are expected to survive, the police said. [NBC News]
