Defender,
Millions of acres of wild places in National Parks, Refuges, and other national lands are under threat as the Department of the Interior carries out a sweeping policy review.
Federal agencies need to hear from us before this review ends. Click here to send a message saying you want wilderness-quality lands to remain protected!
Wilderness policies are under review at three federal land management agencies: the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service.
Those policies guide how agencies manage millions of acres of wilderness-quality lands. These lands are essential habitats for wildlife and provide recreational opportunities for people looking to explore and enjoy our natural bounty.
But this ongoing review could change how wildlands are managed. If existing policies are weakened, some of our most intact wildlife habitats across national parks, national wildlife refuges and public lands will be vulnerable to development and degradation.
The comment periods for these agency reviews are now open. We only have a short time to speak up and keep our wild places protected for the benefit of all Americans and our wildlife!
