Researchers at Penn and elsewhere are working to develop mRNA vaccines to prevent cancer, and the initial work is promising, experts said.
But at this pivotal moment when support and funding are needed most, some policymakers and members of the public are opposed to mRNA technology due to misinformation and disinformation.
“Science and data are not being used to make decisions, and we are losing the truth,” said Drew Weissman, MD, PhD, the Roberts Family Professor in Vaccine Research.
