Email,

Right now, kids around the world are getting ready to head back to school. New backpacks, first-day nerves, the excitement of seeing friends again.

But for millions of other children, back-to-school season looks very different.

In Venezuela, two 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes devastated northern communities last month, reducing schools to rubble overnight. There is a shortage of everything: food, medicine, basic supplies. For many children in Venezuela, there is no classroom to return to.

In Gaza, more than 2 million people have been displaced, and years of conflict have destroyed school after school. Children who once walked to class now live in shelters, tents and the homes of strangers.

In Lebanon, seven-year-old Houssam has been displaced twice—first from his home, then again when the building his family found refuge in was no longer safe. He told his mother: "Mama, I wish we could go back home and go to school."

Three different crises. Three different countries. The same wish: to go home and go to school.

Thanks to supporters like you, the IRC is already on the ground. Across Venezuela, Gaza, Lebanon and more than 40 countries where we work, IRC education teams are making sure children don't just survive a crisis, but continue to grow through it.

LEARN HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS Â»

Your support helps fund programming that reaches many of the children who need it most:

📚 Safe places to learn: creating safe, quality learning opportunities where children can learn, play and begin to heal.
📚 Healing through learning: helping children recover from traumatic experiences through education and play.
📚 Learning wherever children are: providing temporary, community-based and remote learning opportunities so education doesn't stop during crisis.
📚 Skills to thrive: helping children build the literacy, numeracy and social-emotional skills they need to recover and flourish.

Getting children back to learning isn't just about academics. It's about giving them back a sense of normalcy. And because of your support, it's happening right now—in the places where it matters most.

Thank you for being someone who shows up for children—even the ones you'll never meet.

With gratitude,

The International Rescue Committee 💛
