August is a funny time for us. While much of the city is on vacation, we're already preparing and fine-tuning our autumn offerings (we really, really can't wait to tell you about them - they're some of the best things we've made). But like everyone, we're also trying to eat as much of our favorite summer food as possible. This means ice cream. Scoops upon scoops upon scoops.

This month's First Nibs batch strikes the nostalgia bone deep. It's all about those last licks, and the memories of all the last licks before them. It also introduces our very first real "milk-style" chocolate: 48% cacao! While we love Coconut Milk and Oat Milk, at 60% and 58% cacao, respectively, they are technically still dark chocolates with a milky mouthfeel. Our new recipe crosses below the traditional 50% cacao dark chocolate border into milk-style chocolate territory. Of course, it's still vegan! We blend coconut milk and tapioca to create that classic silky, super creamy milk-like flavor and mouthfeel.

But as you know, we're never one to keep things plain. We like to have fun. Which brings us back to ice cream: this milk-style bar reminds us of a really good chocolate ice cream, so we garnished one bar with our own chopped dark chocolate chips and another with the odds and ends of our homemade waffle cones, creating a chocolate ice cream-lover's dream order: Double Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Sundae & Cones!

Chocolate Sundae & Cones is the real nostalgia-maxxer of the batch. Silky, vanilla-infused milk-style chocolate garnished with generous portions of our crispy gluten-free waffle cone cookies.
