The Trump administration delivered a letter to Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook this week indicating the president is "considering" her removal, reviving mortgage fraud allegations that courts have repeatedly rejected as a basis for dismissal. The move follows a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling in June that kept Cook in her position while her legal challenge plays out — but left the door open for Trump to try again after following proper procedure. Cook's attorney called the allegations "baseless" and vowed to challenge the latest attempt in court.
