It's been a challenging stretch for the Loons, who fell to 0-2-2 since the World Cup break after dropping their Leagues Cup Opener to FC Juárez on Tuesday night. A series of momentary lapses and near misses left the team once again walking off the field disappointed, with Morris Duggan summing up the team’s frustrations well, "I think we keep saying that we should have won this game, should have won the last game, should have won the game before, but you come to a point where you've got to win. You've got to actually do it.”

The good news for Minnesota is they won’t have to wait long for a chance to rewrite the narrative, as they’re right back in action on Friday night against Tigres UANL. While the quick turnaround will test the squad's depth, it's a welcome sight for a Loons team looking to prove they're better than their recent run of form.

“The fans have every right to be disappointed; they should be,” Coach Knowles said after the game on Tuesday. "But I know there's a group of guys in there that are going to work hard, that are going to dig deep, and that are going to do everything they can over the next couple games and as we start then back up the regular season to bring back that energy and joy to the stadium.”

As the old saying goes, "the only way through is through", and a Friday night showdown against one of Mexico’s biggest clubs could prove the perfect redemption opportunity for an MNUFC side that desperately wants to reward the Allianz Field faithful with three points.
