At last month's Council meeting, Council endorsed the Disability Access and Inclusion Framework, setting out Manningham’s commitment to improving access, inclusion and wellbeing outcomes for people with disability. Council also endorsed the 2026 Annual Community Grants program, allocating more than $252,000 to local not-for-profit organisations and community groups. Council also considered Amendment C141mann, which seeks authorisation to apply a
Public Acquisition Overlay (PAO1) to 7 properties identified in the Manningham Open Space Strategy (2014). During public question time, some of those who would be affected by the proposal provided important context. The Council unanimously voted to defer the decision to the meeting on Tuesday 27 October 2026.
Manningham deserves better bus services
Manningham is the only metropolitan Melbourne municipality without train or tram services. That's why fast, frequent and reliable buses are essential for our community. Nearly 90% of survey respondents were bus users. We heard you, and we’re now calling on the State Government for urgent investment in better bus services.
Neighbours looking out for neighbours
It might be an hour helping at Safe Plate Day, dropping off a newsletter, coming to a Neighbourhood Watch meeting or simply getting to know the people on your street. Nothing huge. There are practical ways neighbours can look out for each other and help make Manningham feel safer.
Keeping indoor cats happy and healthy
A happy indoor cat is an enriched cat. Toys, food puzzles, scratching posts and vertical spaces help cats play, explore and stay active. Remember, cats in Manningham must now be confined to your property.
