Hi Trail Supporter—

As Congress works to create the next major transportation bill, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy has unleashed a vicious attack on trails, walking and biking that would harm communities and make our streets and communities less safe.

Your voice can help fight back: Tell Congress that trails, walking and biking are essential to you and your community.

The most recent statistics are startling: Each day in America, more than 20 people are struck and killed by vehicles while walking—a 75% increase since 2010. And many more are injured.

The bottom line is that trails and other walking and biking infrastructure like protected bike lanes are essential parts of our transportation system and vital for the health and safety of our communities.

But Secretary Duffy’s priority for the next transportation bill is to slash critical funding for trails and active transportation in what amounts to an unmitigated attack on walking and biking.

The proposal will hurt the country, putting Americans’ lives at risk and causing long-term damage to towns and cities across the nation.

Use your voice to tell Congress that trails, walking and biking are important parts of our transportation future—and critical to the health and safety of your community.

Demand from communities across the country continues to grow for trails and safe places to walk, bike or simply enjoy the outdoors. Secretary Duffy’s response is to attack trail and active transportation funding, prioritizing instead high-speed automobile travel over all other transportation needs.

Write Congress today and urge your elected officials to prioritize funding to create safe places to walk, bike and enjoy the outdoors.

Sincerely,

Kevin Mills
Vice President of Policy
