Disasters Updates: Earthquakes, Wildfires, Typhoons, and Flooding

July tested communities worldwide as earthquakes, floods, wildfires and typhoons disrupted thousands of lives. Amid the destruction, Heart to Heart International was working hard to deliver health, hope, and essential medical supplies to those facing their hardest moments.

Throughout the month, our team shipped thousands of hygiene kits, Tdap vaccines, oral rehydration solutions, and orthopedic and surgical supplies to disaster zones around the globe. Catch up on our latest relief efforts below:

Here’s a rundown of our recent disaster responses:

• Earthquake Response in Venezuela: Shipping critical orthopedic supplies, crutches, and rehydration solutions to affected communities.

• Wildfires Assistance in Colorado: Delivering hygiene kits and hydration support to Hope Starts Here Food Bank during ongoing wildfires.  

• Flood Relief Across the U.S.: Distributing Tdap vaccines, wound care supplies, and hygiene essentials to hard hit regions in Missouri, Texas and West Virginia.

• Typhoon Bavi Support: Reaching typhoon-affected communities with essential hygiene supplies and oral rehydration solutions through established local partners.

We are also actively monitoring the aftermath of the devastating wildfires in Idaho and Washington, as well as the EF-3 tornado that struck Wisconsin communities last week. Our team has connected with local partner organizations in the affected regions to assess immediate needs and determine how we can best support relief and recovery efforts.

2025 Annual Report has Arrived!

$13 Million in Aid Shipped in July

Last month, your support helped us ship over 128,000 lbs of medical aid and supplies to communities in need. Through 84 shipments across 17 states and 10 countries, including the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, and Ukraine, we connected 59 partner organizations with $13.4 million in lifesaving resources.

These shipments delivered almost 4.5 million doses of medication alongside daily essentials like hygiene kits, medicated ointments, antacids, and oral rehydration solutions.

These shipments help ensure under-resourced clinics have what they need to care for their communities. Thank you to our partners and donors for making this reach possible!

Lab Program in the News …

Our Laboratory team has been hard at work expanding access to point-of-care lab technology across the country! By installing diagnostic equipment and training clinic staff, we’re enabling healthcare providers to deliver immediate test results and start treatment in a single visit.

Here are some steps to get started this month:

• Inventory your assets by listing property, bank accounts, investments, etc.

• Update your beneficiaries for your life insurance, 401(k), and retirement plans.

• Choose a trusted executor to carry out your wishes.

• Review existing plans after major life events like marriages, births, moves, etc.

Create a lasting legacy: Once your loved ones are taken care of, consider including a charitable bequest to organizations like Heart to Heart International to ensure future generations have access to vital healthcare. Even a small legacy gift helps us ensure a healthier world for communities in crisis.
