Before Jade Winslade (@jadeateit) set the table, we asked how she actually hosts. From rules worth breaking to the pieces that have earned a permanent spot on her table, here's what she had to say.

That everything has to be perfect before guests arrive. Some of the best moments happen when everyone gathers in the kitchen, chats while I’m finishing things off, and helps themselves to another drink.

Our first table is set, and it’s anywhere but ordinary: in a golden field, bathed in afternoon light, laid with a seasonal spread and glasses that refill before you ask.

The glassware. I use it for everything from water and wine to serving little snacks in unexpected ways. It feels elegant but is also practical enough for real life, which is exactly how I like to host.
